  •  Teacher in Boston Centers for Youth and Families High School Equivalency Program
  • Adjunct professor at Bunker Hill Community College
  • Scored 99% on Massachusetts licensing exam for middle school math teachers

I provide tutoring to children and adults in math topics normally included taught in grades 5 - 11 as well as college algebra, intermediate algebra, precalculus, basic probability and statistics, math required for the pharmacist's license exam, and business math.

I provide test prep for  SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, GRE, and GMAT exams.

My students have had a wide range of abilities from excellent to highly challenged. Some have had mild learning disabilities. In particular, I have quite a bit of experience helping students with ADHD.

Here is what my references say about me:
“He explained things at our daughter’s level without ever making her feel that she wasn’t smart.”
“He made arithmetic come to life by using real- world examples of how mathematics applies to every aspect of our being.”
“Ben’s students invariably ask for him ‘next year’”
“Thank you for your fine work with our daughter. While we expected it to take longer, with your help in just a month she had made up for a weak 7th grade math course and was back to doing the A-level work she had done before.”

Obviously the amount of tutoring time any individual student needs can vary a lot, but I do try to give students the basic skills and habits so that they can manage on their own as soon as possible.

Full text of letters of recommendation as well as contact information for additional references are available.

Each individual learns in unique ways. Call me at 617-469-2333 to discuss the most effective way for you or your child to succeed!
